5 things you can do this week to boost your child's Maths confidence

Understand what's holding your child back
Sometimes, the first step towards building confidence is understanding where your child feels stuck. Discover simple ways to start those conversations and help them feel comfortable asking for support.

Build confidence in KS2 Maths
Confidence grows when children feel safe to try, make mistakes and learn at their own pace. Explore small changes in how you encourage your child that can make Maths feel less daunting.

Helping your child with Maths doesn't have to mean extra worksheets or long revision sessions. Discover how everyday moments, from shopping and cooking to simple games, can make learning feel more natural and enjoyable.

Build fluency through little and often practice
Short, regular opportunities to practise can help your child become more confident with numbers. Discover how a few minutes of familiar Maths activities can strengthen understanding and make new challenges feel more manageable.

Create a positive environment for Maths at home
The way children feel about Maths can be just as important as what they know. Explore how encouragement, patience and celebrating small successes can help your child feel more comfortable, capable and willing to have a go.
Hi, I'm Nauman!
After more than ten years in primary teaching and eight years specialising in Maths tuition, I've learnt that every child is capable of making progress when they receive the right support.
I've worked with children who have lost confidence, convinced themselves they're simply 'not good at Maths', or felt overwhelmed by the expectations placed on them. With patience, encouragement and the right approach, I've seen those same children begin to believe in themselves and achieve things they once thought were beyond their reach.
My experience also extends to preparing children for their Year 6 SATs and the 11+ entrance examinations, including those taken by pupils in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. I understand the knowledge, reasoning skills and confidence children need to succeed in these assessments.
Whether your child needs to rebuild their foundations, develop greater fluency or work towards a particular goal, my approach is the same: understand where they are, recognise their strengths and help them move forward, one achievable step at a time.
SATs Success
"Nauman's support through SATs made a tremendous difference. Our son became far more confident and positive about learning — more willing to ask questions and "have a go." He was even moved up to a higher maths set! We really appreciate the patient, supportive approach and the positive impact it has had."
